It's very... author's self insert Gary Stu male fantasy. The writing itself is pretty good and overall the plot stays interesting, but the main character is so obnoxious in how ~totally perfect at, like, everything~ he is. Actually, none of the characters were really interesting, not that love interest either. More than that, I know it's part of a series, but after the beginning it felt like nothing of real importance was happening.

Overall, I read it entertained, but I had zero affection for Gary (can't actually remember his name now, except that I couldn't pronounce it.)
