Re: The Name of the Wind

It's a decent enough book, aside from the main character - who, like other people have said, is a complete Gary Stu. The only times I could root for him were when he had exaggeratedly awful opponents, like Ambrose. If there hadn't been the contrast of the innkeeper sections to show he was eventually humbled, I'd have abandoned the series.

Book two was even sillier, but I won't talk about that if it'd be spoilery for you.
