The first comment says: "Can I still be considered a part of the Star Trek fandom even though I've only seen the new movies?I'm guessing not, but I'd still really love to be one of you guys (Especially considering I was 9 when the last movie (before the 2009 one) came out. So hopefully I can be forgiven for that.)"

Are we talking about the same fandom here? That "true fan" stuff is still around. Worse because, "Oh you just came in due to Cumberbatch. I liked it before then." They still want you to watch everything and get on you if you're not interested. Then there is still the ship wars and misogyny. This fandom isn't nice and is full of elitists.
Secret because: I should be nice and welcoming but being in this fandom has made me bitter.
