The boyfriend line sounded like denial. I took it like "No, just because I liked kissing a girl doesn't mean I like girls because see, I have a BOYFRIEND and I'm very concerned that what I did will upset my BOYFRIEND." I used to fall back on that line of logic a lot when I found myself thinking about a girl. "This can't be a crush because I like boys, I know because I've had crushes on boys before and that means I'm straight and don't like girls."

I'm projecting a lot, I know and the song wasn't written for me and my experience. But it happened to be so fitting I couldn't help that that was what I heard in it.

Yeah, as a bi girl myself, I went through very much the same thing and that's what I got out of that line too. "I don't REALLY like girls, I have a boyfriend!"

That was my reading when I first read the lyrics, independent of listening to the song or watching the video. The music/visuals definitely push more of a "ooo hot girl on girl" but the lyrics on their own can be read differently.
