yeahhhh... part of me likes Emilie Autumn because of the whole "yeah! girl power!" thing, but the other part of me doesn't like her take on mental illness.

I've had depression & anxiety, and I understand why she'd have her reasons to dislike the mental health establishment. I'm even a bit iffy sometimes about the tendency of doctors to shove pills at mental health problems without actually changing the patterns of thinking involved.

But the fact is, medication can WORK for a lot of people, and it's not okay to make people feel bad because they NEED medication to function.

Don't beat yourself up over it anon.

We've had these "bad feminist" threads before. You're not a "bad feminist" for not liking Emilie Autumn!
