I'm still puzzled why people think what happened in the original series has any relevance to the new movies. Did they miss that it's a completely different timeline? And I love that. Familiar things happening in different ways. Or just new things if you don't know the old ones.

And I loved the reversal of things in the new movie.

At least it's acknowledge as different. Unlike the hatchet job done on so many other things that claimed to be part of the original timeline.

Didn't Trek fandom once be a place to celebrate diversity?

I'm still puzzled by the attitude dictating that this is a new timeline so do not bring in the original stuff because it isn't relevant and no one is to think that way.

What happened to diversity?
