Most of the fans who go on about how the 2009 movie 'invalidated' Trek, or 'completely misunderstands what Trek is about', and how the people who like it are uncultured clods are the ones who've been fans of Star Trek since the 60s and 70s.

This doesn't mean the entire fandom from the 60s and 70s, however, so you can't generalize from that point.

I know hard core old Trekkies who love the movies.

I know teenagers who prefer TOS over the other series and don't care for the movies.
