I really like Sakura, both in CCS and Tsubasa. (I also love CLAMP in general.)

I like her because of the reasons you said - she's great, sweet and strong. I liked her when I was a kid and still like her nowadays. I don't think she's a bland character, although I can sort of see where you're coming from OP - CCS is overall a very sweet series (it is for kids) and Sakura doesn't have a 'dark past' or anything of the sort. But still, I think she's a good heroine.

I don't always like happy-go-lucky, cheerful heroines (for example, I hated Amu of Shugo Chara!), but with Sakura it's different. It's hard to explain.
