They like multiple categories of people and therefore must have their uniqueness acknowledged whenever they mention wanting to fuck someone. Pansexuality is just so fancy, anyone who is not a pansexual just ain't queer enough. Bisexuals are just unicorns, pansexuals are alicorns! At least on tumblr. I'm sure there are people out there in real life who are perfectly normal.

The definition, however, is simply people who don't care much about a gender binary when choosing sexual or romantic partners. It sounds pretty awesome.

I see it differently. I think they should all be calling themselves pansexual, regardless of their desire for uniqueness, but a lot of people call themselves bisexual because it fits in more neatly with social mores.

Sorry. I like fucking biological males with penises and biological females with vaginas, exclusively. There will be no strap-ons, T-dicks or innies for me. You sound like a SOC 101 brat. Go back to school and learn more things.
