Years ago, I had generally borderline-pass grades for a Maths subject. Shortly before the most important exam, one thing I thought of was how Holmes wouldn't have let a Maths tutor get the better of him. My exam grade was higher than my previous one probably because I was allowed more time to study independently. Still, there was that funny thought.
