Re: Pansexual vs Bisexual
Pansexual seems to be a term based on biphobia, as the bi in bisexual doesn't refer to 'male and female' but rather 'gender of the person and all other genders'.
However, people who like pansexual (or have just plain been misled) believe that bisexual means 'attracted to males and females.' The term has even been evolving that way in common vernacular.
But when it comes down to it, yes, they are basically the same thing.
Re: Pansexual vs Bisexual
(Anonymous) 2013-06-26 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)I'm genderqueer. My spouse is genderqueer and intersexed. We both identify as pan because there's no way to slice 'bisexual' as anything other than subscribing to gender bianary and we don't fall on that scale.
