Between 3rd and 5th generation, I liked B/W's plot and character development better in general, but R/S/E had Wally, had less "OMG POKEMON ARE GODS" going on, had more interesting intra-regional terrain diversity, and didn't get ruined by sequels (BW2 kind of fell flat for me, though was mechanically better).

On the other hand, I have never, in years and years of trying and giving up, got to beat the Mossdeep Twin Leaders, so I never really got to finish the plot of any of the Hoenn games. B/W's experience mechanics might have been brutal, but it was still possible to actually win the damn games...

Overall, though, I'm a diehard Sinnoh fangirl. 4TH GEN FTW

Same anon, I just realized how hypocritical it is to blast Gen 5 for using "Pokemon as gods" and then cite the Sinnoh games as my favorite.

I know this is so late you'll never see it, but seriously? The twins? With the ROCK POKEMON? All you need is surf. Unless I'm misremembering who the twins are, then nvm
