...but I hate when creators/producers say something in an interview and we're supposed to take it as part of canon. They need to actually put it in the canon for it to be canon.

it's kind of hard to outright state these kinds of character interpretations in canon. it would be weird if hannibal went "I'm seduced by your purity but I also want to destroy it" to Will. it's just one of those things that you're supposed to take as an implication. in any case, people ignore a lot of things in canon anyway so I don't think it makes much difference if this is canon or not

It's pretty obvious in the show. Like Hannibal says as much to his psychiatrist. How much more do they need to spell it out?
