Because the fandom has already ruined it for me. Every time I see something from it, I can only roll my eyes at it.

It seems like a show I would have liked if the Sherlock/Elementary fandom war hadn't happened. So I'm hoping that if/when the fandom dies down a little, or isn't so full of itself, I can separate it enough to like it.

Okay, the fandom already leaving a bad taste in your mouth makes sense. I just wasn't getting that from the wording of the secret.

It's too bad, really. Maybe if you block out the fandom for awhile the association will pass and you can try the show. Either way, it's just a show. I'm sure there will be others that'll catch your fancy.

I can feel you OP, I normally ignore fandom but the whole Sherlock/Elementary war turned me off to both shows. At first it was just the Sherlock fans being idiots but when Elementary gained some steam the fans had to spend every second on the internet talking about how superior their show is.

(I also have trouble liking things that are over hyped, I end up getting over critical by the time I actually watch a show like that.)
