I don't understand. So you can't just watch the show on it's own because you already know people you think are morons who like the show and you can't enjoy something when people you think are stupid enjoy the same thing? If that's correct, how the hell do you enjoy anything in life?

I knew this girl in college who wanted a mentor, so she went around and kind of interviewed different professors and got to know them and then picked one dude to be her mentor. The relationship turned out pretty adorable. He got a star pupil and she got her mentor. Everybody wins!

The first image is Princess Celestia from the fanvideo parody FiMFlamFilosophy did of the dark fanfiction "Rainbow Factory". The video is called "Rainbow Dash Presents: Captain Hook the Biker Gorilla" on the website YouTube. Celestia is a white pegasus with a unicorn horn (alicorn), with a pastel pink, blue, purple and green mane and golden regalia. She's looking over a map and moving pieces for a war plan.

The other two images are Rarity and Fluttershy from a fanart set by Pea (username CapnPea on deviantART and tumblr, formerly HarryTrumanTheHuman), from the fandub parody of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic called "Friendship Is Witchcraft", by the duo SherclopPones. Rarity is a white unicorn with a purple mane and is looking nervous and wearing a soldier helmet. Fluttershy is a pastel yellow pegasus with a pastel pink mane. She has the picture of three pink butterflies on her flank. She is holding a white rabbit in her mouth, ready to toss it into a fire off-screen. She looks mentally unstable with too wide eyes and a too wide smirk.]

I know it sounds ridiculous, but what appeals to me about some of the best My Little Pony parodies is that the characters are given personalities that are more likely to be seen in a male -- Rarity as a traumatised war veteran, Fluttershy as a cult leader, Celestia as a Cockney Gangster.

I don't know why I like it so much. I can't explain it, no matter how hard I try.

Is this a case of shipping rare/unpopular pairings, or a case of just shipping in obscure/non-existent fandoms? Because there's a big difference! If it's the former, there's always a chance for you to convert some fellow fans -- write fics or draw fanart, post about why you like the pairing, etc.

The end of Jo's run as Three's companion, to me, is one of the saddest moments of Doctor Who ever, Classic or New. A lot of New Who moments like Rose and the Ponds don't even come close for me.
