Honestly, I felt the exact same way. I liked his character, but he wasn't interesting enough to me that I cared if he was ever seen again.

Frankly, I thought his whole character arc fit well with the personality we were presented with--the younger, reckless brother who made messes and had others clean them up instead of taking care of them himself. That he died (twice) while trying to kill the one character the majority of the characters would die to protect makes sense. Because it was stupid, and no one could save him from that.
