I know anon, that's really sucky. But well, that's part of the fun of the game... trying on new things and making them shiny!

You could always find a new group and take your original character to them (with DM approval of course).

Personally I'd be inclined to go in with a new character and be obnoxiously obvious about why you're changing it, to the point of discomfort, and lots of pointed "maybe THIS time my concept won't be stolen" type of hints. But then I'm very passive aggressive like that, lol.
