could somebody explain "trap" to me? I've never heard it anywhere before.

"Trap" means a character who dresses/presents as female but is actually male. The other way around is, of course, a reverse trap. Comes from 4chan.

Eh, I've heard of this phrase way before 4chan entered the picture. But I'm not surprised if they take credit for it.

But you're probably right that the more current definition is a result of 4chan. I've always seen it used as a super derogatory remark, but apparently some people just see it as a certain type or kink? Idk man, idk. The world and it's ever changing definitions.

And sometimes people use it for a male character that they think "looks feminine". Tieria (Gundam 00) got called it all the goddamn time.
