Please keep in mind that Tumblr and ONTD are not actually representative of most real-life liberals. Talk to actual people who are politically active outside in the real world, and you might find you have more common with liberals than you though. I find it sad words like "liberal" or "feminist" are becoming dirty words because of sjw.

They're not. They were made dirty words by the center-right domination of the public discourse during the '80s after the worst excesses of the '70s, and have remained so. (Even before that, "feminist" was a little bit fringe.) They've been fighting words, labels taken up to spite the dominant paradigm, for pretty much my whole life. SJWs and the backlash against them are only the most recent recursion.

I hate it when people use the word "feminist" like it's a vile insult. "Ugh, I can't believe there are FEMINISTS in here." Like how dare anybody want gender equality. Society's view of feminism is so fucked up.
