2) I don't know what level of school you're about to teach, but I can tell you that I've never hidden my fannish leanings in my teaching at any of the places I've taught: elementary and junior high school, and now, community college. In fact, I usually work the comics and TV shows I'm a fan of into my lessons (fill-in-the-blank dialogue from comic books for ESL classes; media criticism with the opening credits of Six Feet Under and Firefly.) I don't talk about my OTPs or squee hysterically, but I do make it clear that I would like to get out of class in time to catch 'Lost'. More often than not, this reminds my students that there teacher is human. I'd said my fandoms have been an advantage in what I do, and I'm proud to be a teacher and a fan.

[cartman-voice] You can achieve your dreams! I'm ... living proof. [/cartman voice] ;)

36) If only I'd known about slash when I had to suffer through that book! It might have made it a little more tolerable... @_@;;

2. Do you write slash?

and do your students/employer know it, if you do?
