City of Rott because it is hilarious. And I love 28 Days Later (even if it not a specific one).

But zombies terrify me. Like...more than anything else.

It's weird, because zombies *used to*, because holy *crap*, walking corpse, it's *touching me*!!!

But most of the movies have been so stupid, with these slow, shambling, clumsy zombies that *still* eat people i'm like...gimme a break!

Maybe the WWZ zombies will be scary. The 28 days ones were because they were *fast* and pretty much immune to pain, but when you can baffle a zombie with a clothes line (The Walking Dead, i'm looking at you), no one should die by zombie.

I think it is the idea of being turned into one. Being mindless and all that. Just a meat suit.

Yeah, that's pretty creepy. I guess if you don't know that you are, well, you can't *know*, so it's horrible but you don't experience it.

The Walking Dead zombies seem to have some kind of memory for a little bit, which is horrifically creepy, so, yeah - shoot me in the head, please.

Or the Left 4 Dead zombies which, outside of the special mutants, fall to pieces if you look at 'em too hard, which is a good thing because they sometimes swarm in groups of 20-50 or more!

Ack!!! That would be very scary! But not, i guess, if they disintegrate that easily.

One of the other things about zombies that is really awful but that almost no movies touch on is *they would stink*. Like - reek. They would be horrible and runny and oozing and covered in flies and maggots and beetles and things.

Gaaaaaaaaah.

If I remember right, all three incarnations of the Walking Dead play with that. It's especially heartbreaking in the game.

I don't remember the tv show having much to do with that. I mean, they're all gross and rotten and pits in their faces or whatever, but no flies or anything too gross. One guy down a well was pretty gross, but he was really the only one.

I may have hallucinated the TV show doing this (I can't watch much of the show without foaming at the mouth because it's awful) but the game and comic both had scenes where the characters cover themselves in zombie gunk to get through a board of shufflers without notice. It's gross as hell for everyone involved.

Oh, yeah, that. They did that on the TV show a couple of times, but it was like 'cut open the guts and squish 'em around', which would be yucky and slimy if it was a person or a zombie, so....

I just want to see zombies in a perpetual cloud of flies, with beetles and larvae and maggots and such. And if they're just 'infected' humans, then i want them *rotting* and falling to bits and not actually able to still walk when they have no muscle tissue left.

But oh, gods, the stink of pretty much *everywhere* for...years. Gaaaah.

There's a mission in a fan campaign for Thief 2 where you have to go into a haunted hospital in the sealed up quarter of the city. Zombies are wandering the lawn and some of them are swarming with flies. To make matters worse, sometimes they'll puke on you and aside from the horrible zombie vomit they also belch out a huge cloud of flies that can kill you almost instantly.

Actually I think there's fly-ridden zombies here and there throughout Thief 1, as I recall probably the first one you see in the entire game is just laying down in a mine tunnel. I got too close to him my first time playing and nearly shit myself when he got up.

Zombies are the do not cross line for one of my friends. I don't think she can even handle previews for zombie movies, which is unfortunate in recent times.
