28 Days Later and Zombieland excell both at the genre, despite being polar opposites.

I want to read World War Z (there's a chapter in which they're in Isla Grande de Chiloé!), now I've seen the movie. The movie is not bad, either, keeps you wondering how the fuck they'll manage to survive the whole movie, and it's very entertaining (fast zombies! Fucking fast zombies!1!). But Brad Pitt's character's was so much of an overpowered Marty Stu it dampened my enjoyment of it a little bit.
