What confuses me is why they even bothered to remake a fairytale with so many female characters if they're scared of using them. It's not like The Snow Queen is one of the more popular stories, they are a ton of fun, male-centric fairytales that are about as well-known as that one that they could have done instead. How about Firebird or Tinderbox? Leave girl-centric shit alone if you're gonna fuck it up.

yeah, it even was going to be a 2D animated film, when concept art was presented, but with the Princess and The Frog not selling as well as they wanted it to, they changed that :(

This. I'm glad they at least changed the title so it won't be as heavily associated with the original, but unless it flops, it'll still unfortunately be the version most people are familiar with. Following Disney's logic, you may as well call Narnia an adaptation of the Snow Queen.
