I graduated from college over half a year ago. I still haven't even written a resume. I'm working a temp job right now that I got because a family member recommended me, but in a month I'll be done with it, and I'm worried that I'll never get myself to apply for a real job.

bonus secret: I quit HabitRPG because I made working on writing a resume one of my dailies, and I kept dying and dying because because I just couldn't get myself to do it. Dropping four levels in a couple weeks was so depressing I just gave up. And now don't even get any of my other stuff done either because it feels like there's no incentive anymore.

If you have a little spare money, you could pay someone else to write it. The heavily advertised online resume services are essentially computerised ripoffs but at least they'd get you SOMETHING, and you could edit/solicit better advice from there. You might do better to ask/search around for recommendations for a good resume writer. I'd suggest using resume advice sites to 'vet' the resume writer (I assume they'd provide a sample) - read http://www.askamanager.org/category/resumes and similar. You might want to start reading http://www.askamanager.org/, actually; it updates daily and is usually interesting.

Whatever you do, get it over with - once the resume isn't hanging over you any more everything else will seem easier. Sooner would be better than later; your current job IS a real job and it's much easier to find a new job while you're still employed than once you're unemployed.

Have you tried getting a template off google? I was really, really nervous about writing my first resume but filling out a template was easier than writing it from scratch. It's really shitty and I almost cried halfway through writing it-- oh, and I had to knock off a few fields because I just had nothing to put there, but it exists....
