When people complain about zomg ;sexsualizing kids in anime or fiction, I roll my eyes, because I honestly couldn't give less of a shit.

It has no effect upon actual child abuse, despite the dumb arguments that get trotted out to prove it's the worst thing ever.

Let alone when people bitch about the same thing in things like Attack on Titan or Evangelion because they're technically fifteen or something?

Whenever people keep bitching about something in their life constantly that's changeable and they never do anything to change I lose a bit of respect for them.

I think people overestimate how hard it is to be a member of various minority groups. Being a few myself I think I could switch without half the whining about how impossible it is to be X, and just how privileged everyone else is and that's why they haven't made anything of their life.

My new job is like the least welcoming workplace I've ever had. No one is trying to get to know me, I feel like I have no idea how to even talk to anyone, and I keep wondering if there's something wrong with me. I normally like not being bothered so I feel like I shouldn't be complaining about this.

Today I cleaned my keyboard for the first time in, like... four years. I took a bent paperclip and scooped out the dust and crap from under each key. (I'm not even done; I've only finished the square from ESC to F.)

The secret is that I find it very satisfying when I can pull out a huge clump of dust all at once. I'm looking forward to cleaning the rest of the keys just because of that.

Friend is married to an emotionally abusive asshole but she makes excuses for why the abuse isn't abuse. It's so depressing that I'm having a hard time socializing with her but I know I can't quit because then she'll be more isolated than she already is.

Possible tl;dr incoming, but...

I was born without breast tissue or a pectoralis muscle on one side. When I was in middle school, I had a surgery where a breast implant was put in and a muscle was taken from my back to essentially become the missing pec. I have a lot of conflicting feelings about this. (Did I do the right thing? Did I do it for the right reasons? Are the resulting impairments re: my back and my arm strength worth it?)

...I also don't feel female and alternate between feeling casually genderless and feeling a lot of dysphoria, but the idea of having SRS provokes just as much revulsion- I don't want to be male, either. I feel alienated in trans* spaces and also I worry that because of the above physical anomalies that my dysphoria isn't really 'real' and it's just because of my surgery feelings, even though the dysphoria isn't limited to my boobs.

I have no idea where to go or what to do about any of this.

I'm seriously considering taking my own virginity this year because I'm not that interested in sex with other people (and won't be getting any in the near future anyway) but really want to experience as much sexual pleasure as my body is capable of. I feel like I have every right to do so, being 22 years old and pretty much grown-up mentally, and the idea actually excites me. But executing it would be against my religion (with which I for now respectfully "agreed to disagree" on this issue... in my mind, I mean) and rather conservative upbringing, so I'm still nervous.

I used to be really insecure about my appearance so to make myself feel better I'd say a lot of jokingly-arrogant things to make myself feel better and I guess it worked because today my mom called me narcissistic and I realized I'm not even sure if it's an act or not anymore. I literally don't know how I feel about myself

I'm going to be 25 soon. I've flunked all the oportunities I've had at an education due to mental health issues. I know I should at least look for a work. I want to see the world and travel and meet new people and forget I'm depressed and socially anxious. I want the life of a Marguerite Yourcenar or Roberto Bolaño or whatever.

But living off my parents, going to sleep with the sunrise, waking up at noon... is comfortable. So damn comfortable, like a crib or a casket.

And with my level of education, the best job I could hope for is flipping burgers anyway.

I literally broke down sobbing today while mowing the lawn because my best friend sent me a message.

I don't want to talk to her. I can't talk to her. Every time I talk to her I feel like shit, like I can never say the right thing and whatever I do isn't good enough. But I can't tell her I want to cut her out of my life because I don't know what she'll do to herself, mentally if not physically.

Just. fuck. There are people in actually abusive situations, I need to grow up and just set some fucking boundaries.

I graduated from college over half a year ago. I still haven't even written a resume. I'm working a temp job right now that I got because a family member recommended me, but in a month I'll be done with it, and I'm worried that I'll never get myself to apply for a real job.

bonus secret: I quit HabitRPG because I made working on writing a resume one of my dailies, and I kept dying and dying because because I just couldn't get myself to do it. Dropping four levels in a couple weeks was so depressing I just gave up. And now don't even get any of my other stuff done either because it feels like there's no incentive anymore.

The first thing that pops into my head whenever I hear someone complain passionately about something in fandom is "first world problems". I can't even help it at this point. I think if your biggest concern in life is if your OTP is made canon or if your friends ship something you don't, then you have a pretty rosy life and need to start appreciating what you have. There are so many issues in the real world that someone could get angry over yet these people choose to whine about a mean BNF. I don't know how people like that deal with the real world.

I think people use the word arrogant too loosely whenever someone (usually a girl) thinks positive about herself. Maybe I'm just lenient, but I only find people arrogant and unbearable to be around if they honestly think they're better than others and make a point to purposefully shut others down to build themselves up.

But people who say stuff like, "Yeah I know I'm fabulous!", talk positively about their appearance or skills, or something like that when it's not hurting anyone? I don't care. In fact, I've hung with those types of people because they're fun to be around. And I'd pick those types of "arrogant" people who have confidence in themselves than a envious twit who wants to talk really shitty about others who might be seen as more conventionally attractive/more intelligent/funnier/etc than themselves.

My best friend wasn't interested in a getting married or having kids, or even a relationship (I suspect she's asexual, not just because of that, but other reasons as well) but her family kept hassling her about it, so she started dating this guy that liked her even though she constantly told our group of friends that she didn't like him. Within like a month they got married (even after marrying him she still kept telling people she didn't like him) and now she's due to have a baby in a week (even though she still doesn't want kids) and has decided she's never going to work again, just stay home and raise kids, despite her career goals.

She's resigned herself to the fact that this is the life she has to have, even though it's going to make her miserable, because her parents would be devastated if she did anything else (they're really religious and think this is what women are "supposed" to do) and I just feel so bad for her but there's nothing I can do. :(

I wish I had a disorder, was on the autism spectrum, or a reason to blame anything but myself for my lack of relationships, social skills, and being a loser. I'm 28 and living at home, and I flunked out of college three times.

I'm an ambitionless basement dweller, and I know I'm becoming too comfortable being one. I'm a professional at self-pity. I still wish I had someone or a friend who could pull me out and motivate me to improve, but I know that's exactly like the Manic Pixie Dream Girl trope I despise.

I'm late, which is prob good cause if I even think this too loudly I sense the attacks coming.

I don't have a problem with the US PRISM program. I also think Snowden is a spy(he said he took the job just to reveal secrets, that is not a whistle-blower) and is definitely not a hero.

These are thought that US citizens on the internet are not supposed to have, and certainly not Liberals (though I'm a bit between left of center and center). If I were to actually say this off anon or in my own journal I would be ripped to shreds, so I just keep quiet because I'm afraid of the verbal abuse I would receive.
