As a lesbian, I disagree with this entirely. The OP seems to consider themselves hetero-romantic, so no, I wouldn't consider them part of the BTLG community, but I think it's unfair to say they were "martyring" to our cause. And it's EXTREMELY unfair and also flat out wrong of you to say that about bisexual people. They most certainly do have the same issues with the "hetros" that we do, PLUS they get extra crap from gay people like you. They are alienated from BOTH communities. Don't speak for all of us. The problem I have with you and your kind, is that you're contributing to a rift between bi/pansexual women and lesbians and why would you want to do that, don't you want more women kissing each other? Why does it matter if some of them also want to kiss men? Are you just looking for excuses to exclude people? Stop it. They have things to contribute and the same need for support that we all do.

BTW I also "pass" because I don't look like a stereotype and I don't tell people I'm gay. Just because straight people assume I'm straight doesn't make me straight, it just makes them heterosexist and we should all be working together to fight stupid misconceptions like that because they are actually part of the societal oppression we all face.

Sorry to the tracking nonnies for all the edits I just wanted to change 'homos' to 'gay people'. I thought it was appropriate in context BUT I thought better of it after my initial anger faded.
