I thought they were a man and a woman, with a hermaphrodite lower-half.

This is so completely the wrong movie for it, but I got to thinking about how awesome and complicated design has to be in that world - you can't design for the typical monster because there's no such thing! Everything has to be flexible and/or accommodating for like a zillion abilities/body types/sizes...

Also, dating must be interesting. Purely on an "I'm attracted to ___" level, not even getting into monster sex yet (do they lay eggs?)

What complicated thought process. Most of the time I always just end up asking myself why the fuck some characters are dressed and some just walk around in the nude all the time and why that is considered ok in-universe.
