I can't respond to it without sounding like an ungrateful asshole.

I'm... flattered, but annoyed all the same. They should try lowering their expectations. I don’t do much of anything in fandom besides semi-exist in it. Barely even that. I don't like it when fandom puts someone they barely know on a pedestal solely for who they are on Livejournal of all places. Unless they cured cancer.
