I was reading someone's readalong of the first book (they never got much farther than Ithink just them getting to hogwarts), and she considered him kind of a....blankslate/everyman. Just for us to see the WIzarding World, and didn't consider him much of a character (but this is very early into the first book, so....)I can understand that, it makes it easier to get through.

yeah, he kind of is, but that's pretty common honestly, especially in children's/YA books that heavily feature fantasy/scifi
