I don't watch this show but I'm assuming they have a system wherein people are assigned their roles in life? Because yeah that would be kind of sweet, to have the job that you're best suited for handed to you without the trouble of finding it/working up to it; but then what happens when that's not the job you want? And what if you're better suited for something else but never get a chance to try?

That was my first thought. Plus, people's skill sets can change as they age, so...

Yeah the show focuses a bit more on people that have jobs they don't want and how awful the system actually is. One of the side characters was determined to be a criminal since he was a child (since they measure mental instability i think it was?) and he was forced to be imprisoned or an enforcer, which is basically a cop that gets limited freedom and hunts other criminals.

I can understand why some people (especially younger people out of college) would want this system since a lot of them have no idea what to do with their lives, but the show is a dystopic setting with a fucked up system where more people suffer than are benefitted. (which is probably why this is a secret)
