I didn't HATE them, but I thought they were boring as fuck.

All my favourite characters in the series, the ones I thought were the most interesting, were the minor characters (mostly the adults). IDK if this has negative implications about Ms. Rowlings' writing (the more she writes about you the less interesting you become!) or just the unfortunate results of having a 3rd person limited pov centered on a blank slate like Harry.

But that's why there's fanfic, and there's some damn good fanfic. (GreenGecko somehow manages to use the same PoV with the same Harry and make him both more interesting and more likable to me.)
