I loved Harry and Ron as characters. Am I in the minority for thinking this? 0.o

You're not in the minority for thinking it but there are some places where you're in the minority. Majority-minority neighborhoods, I guess, following the analogy.

I agree with you, for whatever that's worth.

I doubt it, at least for Harry. It only looks that way because of the topic, and even so there were several people half-agreeing with OP or saying they were neutral to apathetic about either character.

FWIW, I agree with you. Harry and Ron are <3, even though they could be prats at times ;) I get the 'Harry was a blank canvas' argument because to me that's how he came off in the first few books, but I think he really grew into his own by Book 5, if not 4. And that makes sense because of teenagers' usual issues with solidifying their identities. What baffles me is the Ron hate, like, many people still REALLY hate him and I'm like BUT BUT HE'S ROONIL! Oh well, different strokes and all.

Nope, i love them. They're not my favourites but <3

no. but there are a lot of bitter loudmouths on the internet who whine about how their personal faves and woobies were better than mean old ron and boring harry.

I loved them, both in books and films. And I loved Hermione too.

I really doubt it, the major fandom polls tend to rank them around fourth and fifth on the favorite character scale (behind Snape, Hermione and Sirius). But of course it depends who you're asking. In my experience with Ron and Harry, it almost always relates to who the person's favorite character is and what they did to him/her.
