Scene is from the end of the Season 5 episode "Family"

I don't know the song, but the chorus was something like "I can't take my eyes off of you ..."

(huh, for me the only thing I don't like about that scene --- which can still make me tear up--is that the two actresses let their feet just point down. They ought to have been doing footsies!)

Based on that information, I looked it up. It's 'I Can't Take My Eyes Off of You' by Melanie Doane, and it does, in fact, seem to be about television.

This scene is sweet but I have to mute it because I can't get over the fact that the song was written about watching TV.

(OP) It is. I had this CD for years before they used it in show. She says so in the liner notes. I like the scene and the song, I've just always found it funny.
