No villainous faction that you can play, there are a bunch of NPC villain factions that you fight. Though some silly Alliance players consider the Horde to be the 'evil' faction, when really both sides are shades of grey.

Several, even. But the Horde and the Alliance (the two playable factions) are various shades of gray. Though it's more often Alliance players that assume the Horde to be out-and-out "evil" (versus the other way around), while most Horde players acknowledge the complexity of both. And then the game devs tend to shit on the Horde anyway.
