Yeah it gets annoying after a while, like as nice as it is when people say "mte" or "this" to agree with something you've said, I think once one person says it I don't need to see a whole thread of "this." Like if you agree, say a little something after "this" to say why you agree, otherwise your comment is just taking up space.

It's the same thing for me as having an emoticon response, if you're not going to bother really talking to me then don't talk.

I will be the c-c-c-combo-breaker here...apparently (this was a thing I learned long after I ditched Tumblr), to add a comment is considered the height of bad netiquette, as far as Tumblr is concerned. No, I don't know why. But it explains so much of what I saw when I had an account there.

You think less of people agreeing with a post? Or is it just the word This. Would you prefer if I just reply with "Exactly" or "Agreed" or "Same" or "Well said"

Sometimes there isn't anything else to add. Sometimes someone worded it so perfectly that all you can do is agree.

And sometimes people are lazy. Still not something to make me think less of them as a person.

Well, here's to hoping no one will ever thoroughly agree with you again.

I think it's cool on places like Fandom Secrets where there's no +1, thumbs up, or like system. To show you agree, but don't have much else to say. It's kind of annoying on Facebook or Reddit where there is a system in place to show your agreement.

MTE. Likewise, I don't like it when people say "kudos" in a comment on AO3. It happens, and I'm like, "...really?"

haha sometimes people just want to say "I agree with this comment" - just sharing their opinion and voicing assent. I don't know, it really doesn't bother me, it's like "hey someone agrees cool" and how is it a waste of space? space is basically infinite here

Isn't it useful to be able to gauge the response to your post? "At least one person agrees" seems like less useful information than "twenty people agreed enough to say so" or "only one person agreed enough to say so."

I would be sad to learn that you thought less of me if I gave a rat's ass about what you think. Since I don't, it doesn't impact my life in any way.

sort of OT: a girl I follow on tumblr writes "this" or "THISTHISTHIS" on everything she reblogs and it drives me insane

I think she thinks it means "I like this" or "this is great"
