I really really don't think a movie will get made, honestly. Unless it was porn. The (truly awful) sex is basically the storyline. No major studio will fund it and EL James has such a big fat head about it that I doubt she'll settle for anything less.

I thought so as well. I read that it was being filmed but they weren't revealing the cast just yet.

Yeah, the film rights were secured last year and it's been in pre-production since at least January or February.

it's in preproduction but that doesn't mean it won't be mired in production hell. Which it hopefully will be.

That's what I've wondered a lot about this being a movie; sex is a huge part of the books, from what I understand. I mean, you can do a movie about sex and have an R-rating, but how many people would want to see it?

I once thought this, but it was pointed out that if they make an r-movie they can make an "unrated" that will basically be a softcore porn (cause they too pussy for hardcore and one was already made anyway) so it could work with the anticipation of making money there.



Not before they shut this down forever though> But the lawsuit is already happening.
