Is this any good, or is it just fujioshit?

I mean cute guys doing cute things is tempting but can so easily be unsexy 'pandering' nonsense.

it's fun. the fanservice is pretty blatant, but I'm finding it a lot more watchable than the one other "cute guys doing cute things" anime i've seen (kimi to boku).

It's a standard sport anime with better animation than the usual for long sport animes and a lot of fanservice for female fans.

It's an anime which got made because of the very loud fangirl squee and there were already fanarts being drawn based of the fake trailer. You do the math. They'd be stupid to not milk the fanservice for all it's worth.

I must say, however, that the anime seems to not take itself very seriously. I often found the fanservice far too OTT to not be funny.

No, it didn't get made out of the fandom response. It had been in planning/production since at least last year. You can't just make an anime in three months.

I haven't been following the timeline of this. But still: Considering the target group of other pretty boy sports anime, it was still made because of possible fangirl squee.

No shit? shows are made because they will appeal to a certain demographic. It doesn't make that demographic stupid, though.

Yup, these are my feelings on it. It's lighthearted and ridiculous but quite cute and the animation is lovely. The fanservice is heavy but that's to be expected and tbh it's kind of awesome.

It's fun and entertaining.

It has a plot.

It's got a little sports but not much focus on the sports so far and I doubt it'll ever be a serious sports anime.

There is fanservice but it doesn't overwhelm the entire show.

I honestly think it's pretty good. there are parts I found I didn't care for, but on the whole I thought it was really funny and has a lot of potential. there are already some running jokes that I hope to see more of.

It really depends on if you're able to watch a show and appreciate the entertainment value.

Because if you aren't, you will find things to hate about it, and you may as well just save yourself the time and anger and skip it.

IMO, it's ridiculous fun, and as a former competitive swimmer, I really appreciate the accuracy they've shown so far wrt the sport itself. But you're not likely to like it if you go into watching it thinking it's "fujioshit."

I'm enjoying it quite a bit myself. It's cute and fun and the animation of the swimming in particular is great. There's fanservice all over the place, but that's to be expected (and I found it amusingly self-aware, myself. The ED is hilariously blatant and nonsensical).
