Hagrid: There's just not enough dimension to him to make his boring oafishness and incompetence something I can give a pass to.
Dobby: He's an interesting plot device, but other than that there's nothing about him that makes me want to actively read a fic about him and him alone.
Dumbledore: He's too much of the same cardboard cutout "Old Wise Man" that was a cheap knock-off of Gandalf for me to like him. His eccentricities do nothing to make him appealing amusing, and the hints of questionable back-history fail to be enthralling. Even his Word Of God homosexuality fails to do him any favours.
The only way I like him is in bashing fics where he gets turned into the Grand Manipulator and potentially the Other Dark Lord.
Snape: Okay, I admit, I spent a period where he wasn't on my shit list because of shipping back when I was actively in the HP fandom (in '03), but now days I generally agree with the stance that he's nothing but an obsessive creepy bastard taking out his inadequacies on a school full of children, and Harry (and Neville) in particular. Any favours shipping did him in my opinion faded away when I wandered off into LotR, and never came back after I started reading HP fic as time-filler when my active fandom was slow.
