God, people who get so wrapped up in this shit that they actually have a reaction like this to shipping are so fucking lame. No, it has nothing to do with "characterization." It has to do with character interpretation, and frankly, that can be done beautifully in any number of ways simply by being done well.

I'll never understand why people can't get over themselves and be happy. Variety is the spice of life.
