Re: When you date a non-nerd

I find plenty of everyday stuff to talk about with non-nerds, and if they're really cool, they'll be receptive when you need to rant about fandom now and then. Plus, these days, fandom and the mainstream are overlapping something fierce. We don't both need to be lifelong nerds to enjoy the recent Marvel movies. I remember explaining Spider-Man canon to my mom back when we saw the Sam Raimi films, and it was actually pretty fun.

It's only anti-nerds that are hard to date. Like, the ones who actively refuse to go near anything that might cause them to catch nerdism. Only solution for that relationship is to leap away into traffic and fake your own death.
