As an individual player (who doesn't even own a ps3 at the moment), I'm pretty much stuck into my own head about these things most of the time. Only this time I can already foresee this new game will eat my brain for breakfast, and I know I'll need to vent or I'll explode...
Don't know if it might be relevant, I tried, some days ago, to start up a new comm for the new game, with a friending meme, but it didn't exactly take off. Well, I tried! It's both in here on DW (but I didn't find any MGS comms to post it on) and on lj, but maybe I didn't advertise it too much? Oh well, maybe it was too soon. :)

That's the DW one. Now I should address LJ people to it I suppose. I don't know, it might only really be a starting point you know? Like, my real problem here is that I don't know HOW to get to know people interested to this fandom. So yeah, communication would come later, but I really would like to reach more people I can. :) Then anyone could choose to give their Tumblr username, or anything else really, to create a connection.
I really tried with LJ, I swear, the layout is pretty and all, but three times I have tried to check the page and three fucking times LJ has been down. I have no idea how it can suck so much honestly.

Did you create a tumblr? Maybe try doing that and following some fellow MGS fans. If you can create gifs or graphics or draw you might gain followers more easily, and then you might be able to make some friends. Maybe later you can promote the comm to your followers or in the fandom tags or whatever. Also idk if you're interested, but in general comments here on f!s (at the top of page two) you can promote your fandom related comms, so that's an opinion too. Plus, when the release of the game gets closer or when the game actually comes out, you might have people searching for comms so they can discuss the game. These things sometimes take time.
LJ is a pain in the ass. I wouldn't worry too much about the looks of the comm right now, because if people are interested they'll come regardless.

I have a Tumblr already, only I use it for liking things mostly, never did post anything myself. I'm thandie in there too. (Also, I tried promoting the link to the friending meme, just in case. I only put the link on a post and used some mgs tags, nothing spectacular.
But yes, when the game will come out I'll totally be active (hoping to still have some free time, I was actually SO frantic atm because I know I have free time now that I definitely won't have in the next months), and everyone else too, I suppose. It's just that I like to be able to talk about the news and such, it's part of the fun for me. :D
LJ is terrible. I had a pretty layout in there too for the comm, but I just moved everything on DW... seriously, it's down 70% of the time I try to do things in there, how does that site even still work?!?

Me too. IDK how many times I've watched the trailers, but it was a fucking ridiculous amount of times and I had no one to speak to them about so I just ranted to a friend who understood nothing. (Oops.) Post on tumblr! (I'll read it.)
And LJ is just a mess, I have no idea how it's even running at this point. Kinda feel sorry for them because it used to be such an excellent site and such a wonderful fandom hub, and I wish it was still doing well, but...*shrugs* It happens.
