For what it's worth, I've always liked him! And I can certainly sympathize with you; my favorite Spider-Man characters are also pretty obscure/commonly mocked/unliked (actually, this sadly goes for a lot of my fandoms).

I'm in the same camp as you, OP. Shocker is my absolute favourite.

[Picture is the villain Shocker from the Spider-Man comic books. He is a man wearing a skin-tight full-body suit that covers his entire body head to toe. The suit is yellow with a mesh pattern, and there is a sort of red leotard over it. He is wearing red gloves and a metallic belt.]

I feel like he doesn't get the respect he deserves. He's my favorite Spider-Man character, and whenever I try to talk about him all I get is "Laughing Out Loud, Shocker" or "Wafflesuit". He's a great villain with a more fleshed out personality than Carnage, who has a ton of fans. It's just not fair to his character, he deserves more fans.

I love Herman! Especially after both 'The Shocker: Legit' and 'Polarity.' Fanfic, but pretty awesome Shocker fanfic.

Two in the pink, one in the stink.

My favorite is the Spot, so I can relate to this.

To be fair, he's a Spider-Man villain who is neither Green Goblin nor Venom (or one of their derivatives), so 'he's got a funny name' is probably the only reason 90% of people even know he exists.

Oh, hey, Quiltman!

What's wrong with mocking a kinda silly character? I love me some Flash Rogues, but part of the fun is how they can be kinda cheesy. They can be kinda hardcore too, but I'll never not pick on them for their stupid moments. I love Riddler--he's pretty much a dork.

Sometimes it's nice to have characters, especially villains, that are just plain losers. It's part of their charm.

I thought that was Iron Man in fishnets. I'm rather suprised he gets mocked for that look, you'd think fangirls would be all over that...
