It could be like Ratatouille, where everyone speaks in German accents except the male lead.

I meant in the same manner that Ratatouille had everyone speaking in accents related to their setting, except the American sounding main man and rats, SnK would have everyone with German accents except the strangely American-sounding Eren.

Linguini didn't have an accent because it was supposed to show how he stood out/was out of place among the rest of them. He may not even actually be French.

As for the rats, they were speaking in rat-squeak, so them not having an accent isn't really correct or incorrect.
