I know I should grow a pair but I just feel like it's too painful to do so. My friend went through some really bad times and credits their music with saving her life. Even though I don't like their music I don't want to just say no because she doesn't do well in crowds which is why I went with her the first time. Over the years it got to be sort of a thing with us and at this point she's doing a lot better but I don't know how to stop doing without ruining the past experiences.

May be suggest an alternative? A different band you both like very much and would enjoy seeing together. I understand not wanting to ruin past experiences and saying "this band is shit and how dare you make me go see them again" but you can may be say that your interest in them has decreased and you'd rather see someone else? Being nice but honest should work, because i'm sure your friends doesn't want to make you do things you don't enjoy.

She CAN listen to them without going and seeing them in concert.
This is a thing that people can do.
So "mUSIX SAevD Mai LAifS!!!" or not, it's not truly denying her anything not to go. She should just be thankful that you went with her at all, if it's something you don't like.
