Bomber Jacket help

[personal profile] stealsyourtea 2013-07-19 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
I'm planning to cosplay Ace in the future. So, my first step is to acquire a bomber jacket. I already found a few that found work. The problem is that they are all in men's size. I've no idea which would the appropriate size for me.

This all online. So, I can't try them on.

...Ace? Also, you might want to include country since different countries use different sizing systems.

Ooops, I forgot about sizes. Thanks, Anon! Ace from Doctor Who.

I'm in the US. I'm a medium/large size if that any help

AYRT

Then I'd just order a size or two smaller than you wear [like others have said] depending how loosely you want it to fit.

Good luck, hope it works out well! =)

The Seventh Doctor's primary televised companion.

As to the OP...can't help. There's a whole bunch of relevant details missing - how are the sites sizing (S, M, L, XL vs something else), what brand(s) are they (as a way of indicating whether they run large or small within their sizing range), what size do you wear in women's jackets, etc... (I probably won't be able to help you, myself, even with that, but at least it'd give other people information they can use to help.)

Option A: dig around for a sizing chart on the seller's/manufacturer's website. Follow the measurements (allowing for your chest and/or taking binding into account, if necessary) and get the recommended size.

Option B: just order two sizes smaller than what you'd normally wear in a women's jacket.

Option C: see what the return policy is - if you can return it, buy the size you think will fit and if it doesn't, return it and go a size up/down.

Option D: find your nearest clothing store (those that carry multiple brands) and dig around in the men's jackets until you have a good idea of the size that fits you in those. Order that size.

Option E: combine any of the above options as feasible.

what country are you in and what size do you wear in women's?

after seeing what you added, I would go for a small.
