I had a buyer steal about $100 worth of merchandise from me a couple months ago. They had 100% positive feedback and I'd done business with them several times before and always had a good experience, though they were sometimes late with payments. Whatever, right? This shit happens. This time though I was moving shortly and had to ship the items before her payment came through. Which I stupidly actually did, thinking it would be fine. Couple weeks later I ask her what gives, and she says she's going through a divorce right now and asks for an extension, so I give her one, then she's out of the country... well I've got 60 days to open a claim and I don't want to wreck ties with a regular buyer so I held off on opening a claim.

HAHAHAH NOOOO EBAY HAS CHANGED IT TO 32 DAYS SO YOU'RE SOL! YOU CAN'T EVEN LEAVE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK ON HER ACCOUNT ANYMORE! YOU CAN'T EVEN LEAVE "POSITIVE" FEEDBACK WITH ANGRY DETAILS IN THE COMMENTS BECAUSE EBAY DELETES THOSE NOW, AND LETS BUYERS MAKE THEIR FEEDBACK PRIVATE! ALL YOU CAN DO IS FILE A REPORT AND EBAY WILL DO A GRAND TOTAL OF... JACK SHIT ABOUT IT!

So yeah, um, well. Screwed. Lesson learned though, I'm never shipping without payment again, even to a regular customer with a flawless record. What irks me isn't that it happened because that was largely my lack of caution, it was that I can't do anything about it, and eBay won't do anything about it. Fffffff.

...I do have her address, though. It's in a city I've travelled to before and probably will have cause to again. I can't say I haven't pondered ringing her doorbell and asking for my shit back, if for no other reason than that it would feel so good to ream her out for being a worthless shitpile in person.
