Fandom may be moving away from Tumblr

Essentially Yahoo is marking certain tags as "NSFW" and making those tags unsearchable. If your blog has one of these tags, your whole blog becomes isolated from everyone who isn't already following you. (One of these tags is 'Gay'. Wow Yahoo, just wow) There's already a big outcry over this, and talk of moving elsewhere.

That's not how it works. Every blog on tumblr automatically has its default settings set to 'search tags in safe mode', which hides blogs which are marked as nsfw (which, by the way, is something you have to decide when you are making your blog) or posts with tags that the system has marked as nsfw when you search tags. If you set your default to 'safe mode off', then you can see all of those tags and blogs.

Wrong. Some tags and blogs are now flagged and won't show up in a search no matter whether safe mode is switched on or off.

That's how it used to work. But if you read the article and the tumblr links embedded in it, you'll see that's now how it is anymore.

I know we'll move one way or the other if the issue presses, but tumblr is so funnnnnnnn.
