NOBODY FUCKING SAID ADDICTS DESERVE TO DIE, STOP STRAWMANNING, YOU UN-FUCKING-BELIEVABLE MORON. All that was said was that addiction is PREVENTABLE, in a way other mental disorders are NOT, because the first step to addiction, i.e. beginning use of the addictive substance, IS A CHOICE MADE OF FREE WILL.

Didn't OP say that they don't have any sympathy for the person? Implying they do have sympathy for none-drug related death? Therefore they are literally saying that X deserves their death more than Y does?

Like that anon who says men deserve rape more than women? They're always coming in with "I didn't say they deserve it, just that they deserve but MORE than women." which is moronic logic.

Not everyone is the OP.

This conversation has moved WAY beyond just discussing the OP's original point or Cory's death. We're now talking about addiction in general.

Which, of course, was inevitable. May or may not have been OP's intention, but it was pretty much inevitable.

We actually do not know addiction is preventable.

yes, addiction to hard drugs is preventable.

But, there is such a thing and "addictive personalities". So let's say he never got his hands on hard drugs. He might have just had an innocent drink and became an addict - while me, who does not have that genetic make-up, can get plastered a a party (I generally choose not to, but I could) without getting addicted.

So basically, had he never taken drugs, he might still have ended up an alcoholic and died similarly anyway....
