Yes, that does make sense. And I did figure that out eventually - after 5 years. I still think it's a weird choice to use the word privilege that way. AND I think people should explain it occasionally, because it's really confusing and makes most social justice discussions hard to follow. (and it's nearly impossible to ask without getting accused of being bigotted or otherwise yelled at)

Even here, people kept implying that I must be evil.

One other things is that I find the word privilege for something that should be a matter of course a bit... creepy. Kind of like when people use "currently able-bodied" instead of simply able bodied - it has a vaguely menacing air, as if people want to take this "privilege" away. Which is really fucking scary when the "privilege" is having a healthy body. I know most people don't actually mean it that way, but that's one of the implications of privilege.
