Well, if you're genuinely bothered by its origin, the line in itself isn't all that unique -- I'm sure you can find it in a bunch of other things (but not verbatim, of course). That said, I don't think it should matter! It was inspirational and of great meaning to you, and that's all that's important.

and a horrible movie can have a good line.

[Picture is Mikaela Banes and Sam Witwicky from the 2007 live action film "Transformers". Mikaela has medium-long dark hair, light eyes and tanned skin. Sam has lightly tanned pale skin and short dark hair. They're both standing outdoors in nighttime and looking up at something, astonished.]

"Fifty years from now, when you're looking back at your life, don't you want to be able to say you had the guts to get in the car?"

Words cannot express how much I love this scene and this line. Because of the courage and inspiration it has given me, I finally started working toward the career I've wanted since I was in high school. And it's going really well.

Secret because what the hell, it's TRANSFORMERS. It's Michael Bay. That shouldn't be inspirational. And yet.

I love that quote, too. Now you make me want to watch the first Transformers (IMO the only decent Transformers movie).

Inspiration can come from anywhere. Just get in the car and embrace it, OP.

Hah, as the author of a secret from a few weeks ago, I completely understand the embarrassment of getting inspired by something ultra cheesy. But seriously, getting a kick in the pants to better your life is awesome, no matter what the source was. :)

This is a cool secret! I'm glad it's inspired you (and there's nothing wrong with it!) and I'm happy for you that your pursuit is going well, OP :)

When taken out of context it could be bad advice. For instance, don't get into the white pedo van, children! The stranger doesn't really have treats in there.

Hey, I've always really liked that line, too, OP.

Look at it this way: Even though Michael Bay's work is pretty crap, at least somewhere in the movies there was an inspirational line like that.
